Worked great to fix my lack of skill at marking and cutting the electrical box openings in new drywall that I was hanging. I had some gaps that I didn't think would cover well with just mud. I used these and got the perfect fit and had no problems with the mud.
I didn' do a great job cutting holes for outlets when I hung drywall during our kitchen remodel. These mesh patches let me clean up the edges and gave everything a very professional look.
The garage lock has no instructions but the installation is fairly straightforward. I positioned the lock to match up with a slot hole on the door roller guide and then clamped the lock in place. Drill screw holes using a 7/32 drill bit. The hole positions are pre drilled in the lock mounting plate. The mounting screws can be driven with a 7/16 hex wrench, socket or drill driver. Note that the eight pre drilled mounting holes for each lock are quite close together. As shown in the photo the flanges on my screw heads overlapped. While I don't believe this will be a problem in terms of durability or security I would think that three holes on each end of the lock would have been preferrable to four holes that result in overlapping heads. Once installed the lock works just fine and feels quite secure.
I was looking to add a layer of security to the garage doors on my home because a couple of homes in the neighborhood had their garages broken into. I found these slide locks, and they were exactly what I was looking for.Upon receipt of these locks, I was impressed with how sturdy, heavy-duty and high quality they are. These are not cheap thin metal locks like I have seen others have.Installation of these locks was easy for my particular use. I just found the spots on my garage door track where I wanted the locks to slide through, then mounted these to the garage door with the included hardware, and made sure they would slide properly into the slots on my door track.I also like that you can also attach a lock to the slide once you slide it through your door track (see image). This adds an extra layer of security for both exterior and interior needs. This especially works well if you want to lock your garage door when on vacation or other trip.Given the high quality, the ease of installation and use of these locks, their heavy duty materials and price point, these are an excellent value and a great way to lock your garage doors.
Heavy duty latches look and feel like they are up to the task. They come with a bag of mounting hardware. The latches have a black rubber tip on the handle, and a spring that helps them snap in the open or closed position so they won't rattle and move. The metal seems durable enough to withstand some significant force before it yields. If you put one on each side it should prevent any access, especially if you pad lock it once locked.
Replaced the handle on my dads 30-year-old garage. Fit like a glove.
Installed this for my weekend projects, and wow it was easy with this. Felt strong and I saw the difference with my garage opening immediaty
Love the soft-closing action and the crisp overlay matches my cabinets door.
Bar, glove, and spring are all good quality. Makes spring changes fast and safe.
This lock is an ideal replacement for your old one. Remove the two screws, install the new unit, and you're done. It's quick and easy, requiring only a screwdriver. The keys operate smoothly. Constructed from high-quality steel, this lock is free from plastic components, ensuring strength and reliability. It has threaded extensions for convenient internal screw installation.
Loved using the glove, felt secure winding the spring. My door lifts like new.
These are my go-to for client cabinet projects. These are so easy to adjust and the soft-close is spot on everytime.
Switched from an old latch to this handle lock. Huge difference in security compare to my old latch also.
Great idea for sloppy drywall cutting
I was able to easily install this onto my garage door, and all of the necessary hardware was there. My garage door already had the necessary holes, so installation took all of 2 minutes, and now I can lock my garage door.
Quality is okay, nothing to brag about.
These work on wayne dalton and coplay doors. A great way to secure the doors and, with a padlock, prevent them from lifting from the outside or inside.
Good price for the set of locks. They aren't the heaviest door locks I've ever seen, so at this price I put on on each side of the door (both tracks) and feel that this increases my security and the time it would take anyone to try to defeat this. I do put padlocks on these when I am out of town or not planning to use the door (like the small 3rd garage door) for a period of time.
The doors in my shop don't like to stay partially open by themselves. By adding these slide locks to the doors in a spot where they will hold the door partially open solved that issue. Worked perfectly and hardware was included. Since my shop doors only had slide locks on one side, I've added one to the other side of both of my doors to make them more secure. These are identical in fit and function to the slide locks that lock my shop doors when fully closed. These are well built and would take significant force for somebody to be able to bypass them, especially if you padlock them when the lock is engaged.
Couple didn't align perfectly on thicker doors. Solved with shim plates.
Using it on a utility shed at work. No issues after 2 months.
Spring tension felt tight until I fine tuned it. Now works perfectly, but setup was tricky.
First time replacing a garage lock myself. The instructions were easy to follow, and it feels way better than my old one.
Modernized my old oak cabinets with these unobtrusive hinges. Solid performance and no more door bangs.
